Part 1: Charitable Gift Planning for Everyone
Tools to help you, your donors and your organization make the greatest impact
When asked why he robbed banks, Willie Sutton famously replied, “Because that’s where the money is.” Well, he may have been wrong, because non-cash assets are where the money really is. More than 90% of America’s wealth is held in non-cash assets like retirement accounts, real estate, and securities, yet most charitable gifts are made with cash. To help your donors and your organization make the biggest impact, you need to focus on where the money is. And that means you need to start having conversations about gifts of non-cash assets. We can help! In this dynamic, interactive session, you will learn from some of St. Louis’ planned giving professionals about the most common types of non-cash gifts and how to talk about them. What types of non-cash gifts are most common and what do I need to know about them? Who are my best prospects? How do I start the conversation with donors?
